Karen freelances as a costume maker for The West Yorkshire Playhouse in Leeds.

Duties include supporting the wardrobe staff in Wardrobe to constructing a variety of costumes for the productions, and also in the Costume Props department assisting in making headwear, adapting footwear for the productions showcased.

As well as working on site Karen made the chorus for Bollywood Jane of site in her studio.

In 2009 Karen worked for the Literary Department for’ Light Night’ as Designer and Maker of costumes for three different performances. Here she worked with three directors to realise their vision, two acted performances and one dance. The costumes were realised by either sourcing for WYP store or bought through retail outlets and adapted.
