In 2006 Karen Stansfield collaborated with Monique Hollinshead on many commissions for television, theatre and also the fashion industry.

Monique Hollinshead was a teaching fellow on Management and Design at Leeds University. She also is a freelance costumier.

Both Monique and Karen worked for Sue Smith on Yorkshire Television cult television series, ‘My parents Are Aliens’.

Karen has assisted Monique Hollinshead on making an Astronaut costume for Yorkshire television’s Emmerdale.

She also assisted with constructing the padded foundation garment and material dyeing for ‘Head lice’ television advertisement which ran in the summer 2007.

Monique crossed over into the fashion world and was commissioned by Mama’s and Papa’s to design and develop the ‘Preganancy Corset’ which was piloted in their London Bond Street store in 2006.

The corsets are kept in dressing room to be worn by newly pregnant women, enabling them to try on pieces of the stores’ fashion collections. The pregnancy corset won an award.
