Television programmes

My Parents are Aliens and Scratch and Sniffs Den of Doom, Yorkshire Television.

For both programmes Karen worked for the shows Designer, Sue Smith, and built up a good working relationship from 2002 to 2006.

During this time Karen made a variety of costumes for Brian and CJ costume props for members of the cast and designed and printed special shirts for Brian. After My parents are Aliens, Karen produced costumes props for the quiz show, Scratch and Sniff Den of Doom.

Both shows produce an episode each week so the schedules were tight, the work was produced generally over the weekends and Monday for collection and dress rehearsal and filming later on in the week.

Theatre productions

Karen has worked in the wardrobe department at the West Yorkshire Playhouse supporting the staff and producing costumes and costume props for a variety of shows, either in house or in her studio.

In collaboration with Monique Hollinshead, Karen has assisted in making costumes and costume props for Northern Ballet Theatre’s ‘A Sleeping Beauty Tale’ and ‘The Nutcracker’.

Karen has also produced practice skirts for Phoenix Dance Company’s performance influenced by American dance.
